i got in trouble
went to PT yesterday and to sum it up, well, i got in trouble. sort of. for the past week or maybe a bit more, my shoulder has been more sore than expected, even with ramped-up exercise. it didn't get better with time, and truthfully felt worse than it had 3 weeks post-op. after talking it through with Jennifer (my PT) and checking range of motion, pressure points, and other general diagnosing, she came to the conclusion that i am just doing too much. i need to back off of my exercises - in both frequency and repetition. i need to baby my shoulder again and ice more at work, rest more at work, use my right arm less at work.
what i've done is overuse it to the extent that i'm close to being back to square one, except a different square one because now there's no impingement due to the lack of bone. but, inflammation (of biceps tendon and inflamed supraspinatus tendon) is what i'm now facing.
*sigh*
looks like an early November return to the ice may not happen after all. :-( of course, that's what i care most about, but it also affects how productive i can be at work. again, *sigh*.

I have similar thoughts (ok, maybe not the smacking part ;-D ) about my hands, which still ache a bit after a couple of months of not-healing-completely. How does one *not* use one's left thumb or right wrist, especially with a computer job? At least you have your left arm to lift things with.
Yeah, *sigh*! *hug* :-)
