thank you, hockey
today is one of those days that was filled with bits of time to reflect. most of that reflection was about hockey - what a great sport it is, how much i enjoy watching it, how much i enjoy playing it, but most of all, how it's connected me with some of my very best friends.
i guess i got used to the fact that, even though i didn't see many of you more than once a week, that one time was enough to keep me smiling and laughing until the next week. since it's been more than the usual one week (or dreaded 2-week) gap between hockey events for me lately, i've noticed myself feeling more sullen and cut off from my world of over-the-hill friends.
that's got to end. hopefully soon - most likely even before i come back to play, because waiting until November to see everyone? simply not acceptable! now, to work on reaching the steering wheel...
