help!
please tell me what this is for. the only thing i can think of is falling birds, but that just doesn't sound right to me.

the only thing i could think of was in case an east coast ice storm came in and snapped the lines.

I've been wondering the same thing (since I go that way to glass class). I figure they used them set up those long wires, to support the slack in 'em until they could get the tension high enough to lift them into the air.
