finally, a smidge of good news
a very close friend of ours has been dealing with very serious health issues and it seemed that last week, his body was presented with yet one more challenge. fortunately, after successful surgery, R is home and recovering well. this most recent procedure will (hopefully) reduce the amount of pain he's feeling and allow him to enjoy what time he has left. we're not exactly sure what time frame that encompasses, but i'm just hoping with every fiber in my body that every remaining moment is as pain-free as possible.
