whaaa happened?

it was my mom's bday on saturday, but the weekend started off with hockey on friday night. we gathered some subs, including my favorite sub ever, and managed to eek out a win. the best part of the night, however, was after the game. a bunch of us were standing around in the lobby, seemingly lingering forever, which was good because we got to see Val not just stand, but take steps! we all cheered and clapped, which stunned da poor Ree, but it was awesome to see her walking. so awesome.

went to the Sharks game on saturday and despite the outcome, had a pretty good time. chippy play, but hey, it's playoff time. i'm so nervous about the first series coming up! got to visit with some friends before the game who shared some great news with me...congrats, i'm so happy for both of you!

made it down to Monterey for dinner and just relaxed with Maddy and the folks for the evening. slept in a bit on sunday but then did some light weeding (light reading would have been good, too, but the weather was great and it was nice outside) followed by some not-as-light yard waste can filling. i drove my yet-to-be-named car back to santa cruz and spent the rest of the evening on the phone catching up with buddies. i miss you, Kihei crew!
