whaaa happened?

yes, it's true. i have fulfilled my quota of one whole spontaneous thing to do for the year. okay, i don't remember what last year's was (or the year before that) but i'm off the hook for a bit now.

while there's never a true "lull" at work, this is as good a time as any to get away for a bit. and i've been needing to get away - not in a bad way, but it's been a while since i had a non-hockey, longer-than-the-weekend vacation. all that adds up to me booking a flight to Maui. for next tuesday (too!). i will fly out on the 13th, fly back on the 20th. i can't wait to see Nic and Joey. i'll have lots of time to relax, follow Nic and Joe around as they do their daily things, possibly go for another whale-watch (just talked to Nic and she says that there are tons of whales right now), relax, decompress, relax, etc. no planned activities for now, just lots of playing it by ear and yes, relaxing.

bonuses: there will still be plenty of things for me to look forward to when i get back. the Hip are in town on the 26th, i have tix to the Sharks on the 27th, my buds Rick and Cristi are coming on April 3 for the Giants season/home opener, there's a tourney in SJ at the end of April, and then we roll into another tourney at the end of May. wooooO!

i am very much looking forward to this run of fun-things-that-will-happen. no better way to kick it off than by spending it with best buddies on Maui.

oh, and i might miss one hockey session, but i think i can deal with that. :-)
