whaaa happened?

finally...my boss clicked on the "send" button today and sent off our grant proposal. hopefully we get good news on it - at least we won't hear one way or the other for a few months. that way stress is delayed! but, when that delay is over, we hear not only about this just-submitted grant, but also the one that we sent a month ago. if both of those need revising, that's a lot of work for two grants with the same resubmission deadline. which is why i'm glad i'm not the boss.

i will celebrate this evening by going to bed as soon as i get home. tons of people at work are sick right now, but i think what i have is just an allergy. *crosses fingers* there's no way i want to miss the last Val's Spiny Dogfish game on sunday!

speaking of hockey, i managed to fall about 4 or 5 times last game. fortunately for me, most of them were contact-induced, thereby giving me an excuse for falling. i don't remember if at the time, but one of those spills must have involved me landing on my right hand awkwardly because today is the first day i can fully flex my pinky finger. i never knew (until this week) how important the pinky finger is for daily activities, especially typing and writing!
