final touches

i'm at home now, waiting for some kind folks to deliver my washing machine and dryer. i was going to go the used route, but after finding a good sale, free delivery, and a great coupon from my mom, my new appliances are on their way. woot! no, they're not the front loading, infinite-cycle machines of my dreams, but they are functional (i hope) and as long as they wash and dry clothes, i'll be happy.

with the help of a former housemate from the Ollie days (which were the best), Justin and i got everything moved on saturday, july 1st. it was all supposed to be so easy - one truckload. but somehow, much like an episode of Seinfeld, having a reservation for a vehicle did not guarantee that said vehicle would actually be there. long story short, it's good that Justin has a pickup and i have a 4runner. we made (guessing) 8 trips each back and forth, moving furniture etc. long day, but it all happened. phew!

most of the boxes are unpacked and, woohoo, internet and cable were setup without too much of a fuss.

since i'm not at work, now, i'm feeling guilty and will go read a paper i printed out last night. or i'll just putter around and attempt to make this place look presentable. :-)

Comments:
omg, don't you *HATE* that? what's the sense in making a @#$%& reservation if it doesn't guarantee me a truck??? logic need not apply here apparently.

aw, you coulda called, i have a big car and we weren't doing anything then, we woulda been happy to help. of course, i say this now as you are totally moved in. 0=)

Woo hoo! Way to go Jenna (and Justin.) Did we lose Tiffani?

uh, yeah. Tiffani found a place ahead of us, so it's just the Yamadas in the new pad.
