ree?

played with the AT2 last night and for the first time in a while, i feel like i didn't totally suck. we lost 2-1, but i thought the game had a pretty good rhythm to it. there were a couple of glaring times that i wasn't able to effectively clear the puck out of our zone, but overall i think i did okay. i got taken out a couple of times, once by a guy i thought wasn't very nice about it, but i still fought for the puck. he's stronger and bigger than me, so he ended up with it, but not without me scrapping for it. i actually poke-checked the puck from da big dude once or twice and caught him changing directions once, promptly sending him onto his butt. :-)

if only i could *not* suck more often.

had a nice chat with Jill after the game and had another one of those "wow, small world!" moments. i used to work with one of her ex's! i never cease to be amazed at how small the world really is sometimes.

Comments:
omg, that was the nicest strip EVER! he totally thought he was gonna motor up-ice with it and WHAM! cheddah steals it away and takes it in. nice!

and shut it, you never suck. =P

Keeping those big guys busy is actually incredibly valuable; even though you feel like you're not going to be able to catch up or take the puck from them, as long as they're dodging around trying to avoid *you*, they won't have enough attention left to aim at the net, and if they pass, they'll have a greater chance of missing whomever, and it'll be a 50/50 again. Believe me, I go through this mental procedure a lot at the Oasis. ;-) The distraction is almost as valuable as taking it.

And by the way, WAY TO GO on the poke-checks!! Sounds like it had a bit of JMT on it. ;-)
