random observations

just came back from getting myself a mocha - haven't slept much for the past 2 nights (who knows why?) and i need some energizing for 2 straight seminars that i really should stay awake for.

anyhow, getting said mocha involved me actually leaving my building (gasp!) and walking outside to another building, where the coffee cart it. on my stroll back, i saw 7 people i assumed to be undergrads. five of them were walking or sitting talking on a cell phone, one was sitting listening to her ipod, and a whopping one person was sitting down studying.

am i so old and curmudgeonly that i think "are these kids here to study or what?"??? maybe if cell phones had been around when i was in college, i would have been one of those people walking around campus talking all the time, but i doubt it. maybe it's not even that i'm getting older, just that i'm getting more curmudgeonly!

but still, only one person studying? to use a line from G.O.B., COME ON!!

Comments:
actually, what i was thinking was, "can't they enjoy being outdoors without all that?"

then again, if it were up to me, i would've forgotten my ipod and realize that 'hey, i'm outside!' =D

Cheddah Curmudgeon. I like it. It needs a middle initial though. Oh, I've got it, Cheddah B. Curmudgeon.
