woo, 3 day weekend!
i had been wanting to go to Monterey to check in on the 'rents, so i headed home on friday night while bro stayed in town here in s.c. didn't do much that night - just watched some TV and headed to bed early. i finally got a chance to sit down with my current book again ("the time traveler's wife) and got some great sleep. woo!
my mom and i were going to do some weeding on saturday, but it was raining all day so we spent lots of time lounging around, reading, chatting, etc. watched a movie that night that my aunt had gotten for my parents for Christmas and i found it ("horseman on the roof", or soemthing like that) pretty boring and pointless, but kept myself awake by doing some "sodoku" puzzles.
since it was nice and sunny today, my mom and i headed outside late in the morning to attack the weeds. my dad gave my mom some tulip bulbs last september for their anniversary, and we planted them over Thanksgiving. they're starting to push through the ground now, so we cleared the weeds from around them. swept up the back deck and brick area, then grabbed a quick bit to eat before heading back up to santa cruz.
Justin got some folks together for an intramural floor hockey team this quarter, so a bunch of us met up this afternoon and scrimmaged a bit, messed around. it was a lot of fun and while we may not win many games (just a hunch), it will be a fun group of people to hang out with.
plan for tomorrow: not go to work. :-) optometrist appointment in the morning, Sharks game at 5. that's all i've got on tap for now!
