holiday party!!

my department had our 4th annual holiday party last night and it was a good time!

i still think the first year was the best, or at least most memorable for me. i was in a skit with my labmates and we had a blast writing the skit and also acting it out. we did one again the following year, and while i attended last year's party, i spent most of the time sitting in one spot with nobody to my left because that's where my ankle was elevated.

this year the venue (The Attic, downtown) was great - ample space, small stage, and comfy seating. in my humble opinion - oops, sorry Jennie - IMHO, the highlight of the night came when one of the professors showed up in a santa suit. he had a bag filled with toys for all the kids who were there and all of their faces just lit up in ear to ear grins when they saw him. apparently, it was all his idea to get the costume and toys for the kids. it's not surprising because he's just that good of a guy, but it is a bit surprising that he got his act together to order everything to be here on time!

at one point, my boss' daughter (who is 3 1/2) saw one of her friends from daycare and they ran to each other and hugged, then exchanged little kisses on the cheek. it was very spontaneous and insanely cute.

i didn't stay too late, mostly because i'm old and had been out a few nights this week already. i came home, worked on formatting a Christmas letter for my parents, played Goldeneye with Justin, then spent forever trying to fall asleep. i should have read a book, but i was too lazy to put on my glasses. now that, my friends, is lazy!

LOL Thanks for the laugh!

Isn't it funny how some guy playing Santa just lights up their lives? Kids are a stitch.
