washing hockey gear
since the mega washer isn't up and running yet, and since i am in the middle of a 2 week no-hockey break, i decided to attempt to wash some of my gear this weekend. i had done this once before, and it helped a little bit.
so i filled the bathtub with lukewarm water and tide, threw in my elbow pads, shin guards, and gloves, and sloshed away. it's good that the inner lining of my shin guards are removable because that helped me clean them better. it took through today for everything to dry out, and i've still got my gloves outside just in case there's residual dampness. i can already tell that the cleaning job is by no means up to par with "clean solutions", but hopefully it'll help a little bit.
