boston report
checkin' da emails from a lappy! wooo! a very nice lappy - might want to get one for myself now!
well, i had a full day yesterday. got to the airport in monterey a little after 10, then made it to SFO a few minutes later. literally. about 20 minutes and that was it! i thought that was a great way to start my trip - might indicate a faster pace than i anticipated. then i got to my gate at SFO and saw that the flight was delayed for an hour. okay, no biggie. i charged up the sk (thanks again, Andrea!) and ate lunch. we boarded the plane about 45 minutes later than the intial delay indicated, so now we're almost 2 hours behind. then we taxi to the end of the runway and the engine shuts off. lovely. the captain tells us that because of weather condidtions in boston, air traffic won't let us take off until at least 3:45. weird because i had just talked to my bro and he said it had stopped raining a while ago. it's okay, i'd rather endure the wait than take a chance.
i spent a lot of time with cluster buster and tetris instead of watching adam sandler's remake of "the longest yard". it seemed like it should have been called "the longest movie". maybe that's because i was sitting next to a kid with a skateboard and perhaps the worst breath ever. he was nice enough, but i tried not to engage him in conversation because his breath was just that bad.
bro and Christie picked me up at the airport, then we had to go to baggage claim because i had to check my carry-on since the overhead space was taken up. we made it back to the apartment around 12:45 but of course i wasn't tired yet. i finally fell asleep around 2, only to wake up at 8 to go to breakfast w/bro and Christie.
C then took off for a job fair while Justin and i picked up the Uhaul trailer and started moving his things. we had one of the 3 apartment elevators reserved from 2-4, so from 12-2 we moved boxes and boxes and boxes (then more boxes) from the apartment into the hallway, then from 2-4 moved them from the hallway to the basement. then, from the basement to the side of the building to load up the trailer and his truck. both the truck and trailer are pretty much packed right now, and i think that amounts to about 225 square feet of stuff. yikes!
my arms are already sore, so tomorrow should be fun.
we are planning a trip to Fenway for a tour before we take off...should be awesome. and the Sox won today...woot!
updates to come from the car - expect them to be much shorter than this one!
