saturday rounds out the good week
my aunt is visiting my folks in Monterey right now, and she came on saturday afternoon. i drove down friday night to have a belated birthday dinner for my dad and to hang out with my folks.
i had to leave shortly after my aunt arrived because i had to drive to LoTech for the AT2 playoff game. i had been nervous about this game all week! we started out a little bit slow, fell behind 1-0 but then started to pick things up. everyone played really well and i think we did a great job playing as a team. that's been the trend all season, but it showed yet again. we tied it up, then took the lead. it was great to have Corey and Spike playing in this game. our D did an awesome job at keeping their offense away from our zone, and when shots did come, Chuck was there to shut 'em down. the last few minutes were tense (for me, at least!) but we won 2-1 and wow, we did it. champs! it is a really good feeling to know that a good, solid bunch of people can play as a team and hang with (and even defeat) other teams. they might have some good individual players, but the AT2 is the little team that could, as Liz likes to say. woooooO!
