hockey and hockey
what did i do friday night? not a whole lot. watched the Giants, went to bed early to read some more of "a fine balance".
went to lab for a little while on saturday late in the morning and made it home in time to watch the Giants. took off to SJ for hockey but stopped at Power Play to check out skates for TQ....d'oh, they close at 5:00 on saturday and we got there at 5:15. oh well. we headed over to LoTech early and she tried on skates there. turns out that the skates that fit her best were Susi's skates, so those are now hers. thanks Susi for a great deal!
the game was...ugh. we won but i was almost continuously pissed about how Ellaine was getting treated by the opposing team. she held her own and i think is okay, but still....grrrrr. i played with Mike and Elissa (before she had to leave) and we did well together. had lots of chances and i think i had at least 3 or 4 shots on goal. we didn't convert, but it was still lots of fun playing with them. grabbed a tasty (but rather expensive) burger afterwards and then headed home.
slept in this morning (yay!), went to Trader Joe's and (as always) got way more than was on my list of things to get. went back over the hill for my green game in Fremont. got there a bit early so i watched some of the red game and saw Viv in net - wooo! one of the goalie's was a no-show for the green game, so we split up the time that Susi played in net for each team. we ended up tied, which was a good outcome for all. but it was mildly annoying have to switch up lines each period according to whether we had a goalie or not. still, lots of fun even though i felt ridiculously slow.
talked to my bro on the way home and i think i've decided on the camera i want to get: the nikon S1. i've been happy with the nikon i have now but it's getting old and seemingly slower each time i use it. i'll never part with it but would like to have a smaller camera to take out for everyday use. the S1 has gotten good reviews and i like the features; only problem is that i'll have to get all new storage media. i guess that's okay though.
i think i've also decided on the new helmet i'm going to get: the ccm 1052. i tried on the Bauer 8K but it didn't feel right on my head.
why i've decided to spend all this money i'm not quite sure, but it's fun and i like new toys.
