after being jolted from my peaceful slumber by an early morning phone call on sunday, i couldn't get back to sleep. my dad made it up to my house and we went to the Giants game - great weather, the best company, bad game. bah. however, i'd rather go to a loss with my dad than a win without him.
when i returned home, our landlords had already inspected the newly-vacated bedroom and there are some things that need fixing, but they aren't urgent and i got the go-ahead to move some of my things into the room.
i love that there is more natural light in that room. even though my old room faced the street, it was nicely tucked away and set back so that i didn't hear too much traffic. but, it hardly got any daylight and was perpetually dark. it was so sad to have to turn on lights in the middle of the day, so i'm excited about the new room.
so after i got home last night, i moved things into the bathroom. i scrubbed, cleaned and vacuumed (even though that had supposedly already been done, it can never be too clean). that went well, so i decided to move just a few things into the new room and attempt to clean/organize as i went. since this was my well intentioned plan, i started with things from the closet. got those moved over and enjoyed the additional space (translates to more room for hockey stuff). well, that was done, so i figured i may as well move my dresser over. after that - i might as well move my desk. and so on...i ended up moving everything to my new room. for those of you who know me well or have seen my place, i am a packrat. i have lots of crap. crap that i can't get rid of. so moving everything was by no means a trivial matter! it all got moved in 4 hours and since i was in a bit of a frenzy moving things, i forgot to eat dinner. i realized that when i was faint and dizzy. oops.
it should be fun to organize my things and attempt to maintain some semblance of order. for now, there are piles of things on the floor and many items where they are not going to permanently live, but i slept in my new room last night. aside from a weird flashing light outside, it was great!
i am tired today and know that i'll be sore later on...ugh! and, i couldn't find my shoes this morning. i found every other pair of shoes but not the ones i was looking for. so of course i've been obsessing about the location of my shoes all morning! can't wait to get home to locate them. er, i mean i can't wait to get home to throw out superfluous items. right, that's it. :-)
