game on!
well, this is post #222 for me. many of you know of my obsession with numbers, and since 22 is my favorite, this post is of significance to me. well, sort of.
assuming the nhlpa ratifies the cba that has been proposed, the puck will drop in october and the nhl will see a full season. at times during this past not-season, i thought that i wouldn't go back. here is the average joe plugging away at work every day and often every night, too, and owners and players are squabbling over millions of dollars. (similar! to Red's rant about this)
but you know what? just like after the baseball strike in '94 (that likely stripped The Thrill of a batting crown - which would have dramatically helped his chances of getting into the HOF next year, which now he probably won't...) i've realized that i love the sport too much to let it go. i'd like to be strong enough to not renew my tickets but i can't. i will attend, watch or listen to every game just like before. and i hope i'll lose my voice screaming for the Sharks in the playoffs again.

"Drop the puck, it's time to go"

First off, it was millionaires arguring with billionaires over billions of dollars.
Second, Jeremy Roenick can bite my ass. I hope he gets hit by a truck. Twice.
Third, I'll never watch another NHL game (live or on TV) again. I completely agreed with the owners and thought the players were being nothing but greedy. The single highest average salary (1.8 million/seaon) for the 5th (yes, Arena football overtook the NHL) most popular team sport. Go figure how the players didn't see a problem with that.
Players holding out while under contract (bite me Alexei Yashin), players grossly overpaid (bite me NY Rangers), agents exploiting the rookie salary cap loop hole (eat me Boston, Joe Thornton, Minnesota, Marian Gaborik), and Todd "I r teh ubah l0z3r" Bertuzzi is gonna be let back in the league.
NHL? No thanks. I'll go out of my way to not give a dime to those morons. My only wish is that I could watch the Russian Elite league play. GO VALERI!

yeah, i wish i had more of a backbone when it came to things like this.
BUT, i don't, and i'll be back. i suppose there are many more people who have your attitude, thought it may be harder for them to resist going to an NHL game since they don't live in frozen tundra. :-)
as for JR, let's hope it's 3 times.
