that was a good weekend
had a nice and relatively mellow weekend - started off by leaving work an hour early on Friday so i could run some errands, including toy shopping for Ollie. i went to Pet Pals and found a green spider for him, which will complement his favorite toy (orange spider) quite nicely. after toy shopping success, i headed to Monterey to enjoy a quiet evening with my folks. i'm still so amazed and overjoyed at how my dad is doing - it's so great to be able to see him enjoying his life and putting on extra pounds.
went shopping with my mom on saturday morning and found a wedding present for Todd and Amy at Annieglass - just what i was looking for, too! i had in my mind what i wanted to get them and i'm glad i found something that fit the description. went back home and got some cortisone injections for my scar. wow, it actually seems to be softening a bit! not shrinking yet but there's still hope.
did some more shopping with mom in the afternoon at the Gilroy outlets and then went to Crate and Barrel in San Jose to exchange her Mother's day present. went from there to hockey with the AT2 and had a really fun time. we won, too! :-D
Father's day was good on sunday despite the Giants totally sucking. oh well, it was fun watching the game with Dad. my mom and i sorted through pictures from 1979-1981 because she's moving pictures from old albums into new ones, and at the same time dividing them up between me, my brother, and some for my folks to keep. looking at all the pictures made me realize yet once again how lucky i am to have my parents. they took us to so many places, spent so much time with us while perhaps sacrificing time for themselves, showed us so much love and affection. if i can do just a fraction of that for my children, they'll be very lucky kids.
