weird denver air

don't know if the air in Denver or the airplane trips are to blame, but the past few mornings i've woken up with a sore throat. fortunately it's gone away quickly once i'm up, but i can't get sick because there's a mini family reunion in Monterey this weekend - all folks from my mom's side of the family. it'll be good because those are the relatives i don't know as well. the last time i saw them was a few years ago at the first reunion and i got to meet them for the first time i can remember. now there's another generation to meet as my second cousin and his wife will be bringing their baby - and hopefully their dog, too.

oh, and i'm skipping softball today because ever since last night i've been dizzy. i figured a good night's sleep would take care of it, but the first thing i did when i got out of bed and stood up was fall over. not a good sign. i've found that if i don't turn my head too fast i'm okay. so today is a mellow work day. lots of reading papers and making figures for our paper which will hopefully be sent out by the end of the month.

You could always try some Airborne (and loads of vitamin C) to see if you can keep away any potential colds. It doesn't always work for the bad colds, but I've had luck with the ones where I start to feel a little something coming on. Then again, a sore throat in the morning could just mean you are breathing through your mouth while you sleep...or maybe allergy related post-nasal drip.

But being dizzy doesn't sound good...could you have an ear infection? Hmm, or does low iron also make you dizzy?

P.S. Maybe you should see a doctor if you are dizzy.
