hockey 101
had our first green game tonight after picking squads for the upcoming season. amongst the very long list of things i need to re-learn (or learn for the first time) are:
and that's just the beginning of the list!
- no gliding
- cover a body on D, don't just chase the puck
- find the magic spot (high slot) on offense
- don't lose the puck on a breakaway
- don't shoot AT the goalie on a breakaway
- when going over the boards, try to land on good ankle
- be patient with the puck
and that's just the beginning of the list!

A long list is a great thing! Sure, it seems overwhelming to write it all down, but without that list it's hard to know what to work on to get better.
My theory is, players who don't have a list like that generally don't improve much.

-Don't start laughing when your coach screams CHEDDAH!!! while you have a breakaway.
-Don't continue laughing when she says "Wha Happan??" after you lose the puck.
