stoooopid cold!
i managed to be at work for at least 5 hours on thursday and friday, then had to come up on saturday to tend to some things. after that i made the exciting trip down to santa cruz medical foundation's urgent care facility. i pretty much knew i didn't have strep throat because every time i think i do, i don't. so at the end of 2 hours, i had a very nice doctor tell me that i didn't have strep or some other bacterial thing. just your run-of-the-mill, nasty-ass cold. she did note 3 separate times how red and swollen my throat was, though. i'm glad i was able to impress her.
the trip the the doctor was followed by a trip to safeway, where i stocked up on soup, ginger ale, orange juice, and sherbet. mmmmmm, sherbet. oh, so sherbet and sherbert are both acceptable spellings. i just prefer sherbet. though i'd probably eat it either way it's spelled.
damn the person who gave me this friggin' cold!

When I was little I used to think "sorbet" was pronounced "sor-bet", and that someone had just really butchered the word "sherbert". Hehe.
