sore is good...

okay, so PT now stands for "pain and torture". yes, it helps people get better so they can return to their normal lifestyles, but in the process, it can hurt. a whole lot.

i'm experiencing more of the "good soreness" today after my PT appointment this morning. lots of manual joint manipulations that really stretched my achilles tendon and deltoid ligament. i can already see that my ankle is more swollen now than it was this morning, but that's nothing a little ice and ibuprofen can't help.

i had my appointment with the doctor after PT and he claimed that my progress was "very good" and "well ahead of schedule". that's what i like to hear! he was impressed that i'm no longer using the boot, and by looking at today's xrays, it all seems sound and rather healed bone-wise. i can still see hairline marks where the malleolus was broken off of my tibia, and there is a more prominent line where the fibula broke, but he says that it would be pretty structurally sound if i had no metal in me. and i've got the go-ahead for Vegas! woohoo!

so, i go back in 2 months (!) and then the good Dr. claims that will most likely be my last visit with him. *knock on wood*

other than that, just getting ready for this big storm that is supposed to drop at least 4 inches of rain on us in a relatively short period of time. i just hope we don't lose power!
