whaaa happened?

had my checkup with the good Dr. today. the nurse took off my splint, then sent me over to xray, where i had some nice pictures taken and according to the doctor, everything is still in place. that's good. especially since that's what 10 screws and a plate are supposed to do.

the big news: i get to wear the equalizer boot now! it took me a few minutes to get my foot almost flat on the ground. never got all the way there, but that's my goal by the end of the week.

i can shower without the hefty bag contraption! i can sleep without a splint! i can wear a sock! actually, i'm going to hold off on the sock wearing on my left foot because the cuffs would land on my scar and i imagine that might still hurt.

the prognosis: i might be walking in the boot, sans crutches, by my next visit in one month! in the meantime, i'm still crutchin' it and will start PT soon.
