whaaa happened?

it's always nerve-wracking to have a developing day on the day before i leave for an extended period of time. last time this happened, i didn't know i was leaving for a while, but the day before the GAB of 2004, i had a very disappointing result. it was the first time in a while that an in situ hadn't worked, and not only did this not work, it was the king of not working. it just looked horrible! and i got to have that as the most recent experiment while i lay around the house for a month.

so today is a developing day and so far things seem to be going all right. not horrible, i can see that at least some slides will develop fine, but so far not great. harrumph.

and i'm leaving the whole-mount in situs for Dave to develop tomorrow, and while i don't have a good feeling about those, it's about time that started working. that would be a good way to finish out the year...with something working!
